Ep. 221 - The Pecking Order
MINISTRY MOMENT
Do you find it easy (or even tempting) to look at the faults of others — noticing them quicker than your own faults?
PRAYER POINT
“Father, thank You that YOU have an amazing plan and purpose for my life. I thank You God, that even amidst my own sins and faults, You still sent Your one and only Son, Jesus, to die for those sins. Thank You for Your incredible love! Help me to love others and not judge others. Give me wisdom to know how You would appropriately use me to help others walk in Your freedom and love. Thank You for leading me and guiding me. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”
GOING DEEPER
Read and study Luke 18:9-14 and Matthew 7:5.
WALK IT OUT
Remember, it’s not a sin to simply “notice” the sin of others, but it can become sin when we start judging others and thinking of ourselves as better. That is the sin of pride. Jesus wants to set us free from that attitude! If you notice yourself being tempted to judge or condemn others, quickly submit those thoughts to Jesus. Ask the Lord to reveal and heal any sin that you are fighting against, but also begin to earnestly pray for those who are also struggling.
SHARE WITH OTHERS
If you see a close friend or family member struggling with sin, keep Matthew 7:5 in your mind, but seek the Lord for how you can help them. It’s good for all of us to be reminded that our Father in Heaven wants freedom for all of His children. There are no perfect Christians, but we are walking “towards” perfection through the amazing blood of Jesus!
