Ep. 241 - Deserve or Receive?

MINISTRY MOMENT

Are you ever tempted to think about “working” towards your salvation, instead of confidently and completely relying on faith in the sacrifice of Jesus to bring you into a right relationship with your Heavenly Father?

PRAYER POINT

“Father, thank You that YOU have an amazing plan and purpose for my life. I thank You God, that even amidst my own sins and faults, You still sent Your one and only Son, Jesus, to die for those sins. Thank You for Your incredible love! I thank You that I GET to live a fruitful life of good deeds, not striving towards HAVING to do good deeds. Any “works” that I produce come completely from a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You for leading me and guiding me. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Read and study Romans 4.

WALK IT OUT

While recognizing that throughout our life, we do have to work hard to grow and mature and earn a living — let’s never confuse that (good) work ethic with our ability to freely accept the sacrifice of Jesus through faith. Our good works/deeds instead flow FROM the free salvation of Jesus’ death and resurrection. That is good news!
