Ep. 237 - First Comes First
MINISTRY MOMENT
How can you practically seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in your life?
PRAYER POINT
"Lord, today I ask You to uncover places in my life where I need to place You first in order to fully submit my life to Your will."
GOING DEEPER
Here are some other examples of placing God first in your life: memorizing a verse for the week, listening to a podcast (daily, weekly, monthly), journaling, praying throughout your day, looking for ways to help others amidst your busy life, sharing the good news to those around you, serving at your local church, and living a life of gratitude. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” Exodus 20:3 says, “You shall have no other gods before me.” And Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Read and study these scriptures!
WALK IT OUT
Today I encourage you to take an inventory of your habits. Where do you seek an outside source instead of hearing from God first? When you wake up, do you first grab your phone? If so, maybe you spend that time hearing from God’s perspective. When an issue arises, do you grab your phone to call someone? If so, maybe spend a few minutes seeking God’s heart on the issue at hand for His response.
SHARE WITH OTHERS
Today I encourage you to share this with a family member or close friend who may feel like they’ve drifted in their relationship with the Lord or maybe are just beginning in their faith journey. These practical steps can be useful to growing a thriving relationship with the Lord.
