Ep. 637 - The Purpose of Pruning

MINISTRY MOMENT

Gold is subjected to high levels of heat for the purifying process to occur, it’s an intense process. Pruning can feel intense as well, but if you allow God to work through this process, on the other side of it is a version of you that is better.

PRAYER POINT

“Father, I may know in my mind that the pruning process is fruitful, but help it settle and resonate in my heart, that the pruning process is for my benefit.”

GOING DEEPER

Read John 15:1-15, John 3:30, and Psalm 139:23-24.

WALK IT OUT

What do you feel God is wanting to prune in your life? He may ask you to play a part in it. Maybe He’s asking you to set boundaries in a relationship that you don’t want to, but it’s for your benefit. Maybe He’s calling you to lay aside a distracting habit, or He’s letting you walk through a hard season that will build your character. This doesn’t mean it will appease your fleshly desire, but if you submit to Him through it, you will come out stronger and healthier on the other side. What pruning is God asking you to be obedient to?
