Ep. 225 - Teach & Raise Up

MINISTRY MOMENT

The word “teach” appears in the NIV 361 times. We are responsible for teaching and raising up the next generation – whether we are earthly parents or not. God directs us to do so.

PRAYER POINT

"Lord, please help me. Give me the strength and the wisdom to be the example and teacher to those around me that You would have me be."

GOING DEEPER

There are dozens and dozens of scriptures that direct us to teach and raise up children. Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV) says, “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” Deuteronomy 11:19 (NIV) says, “Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” And Philippians 4:13 (NIV) says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Read and study these scriptures.

If I’m not teaching those around me about Christ or modeling how to be Christ-like, then who is and what am I actually teaching them?
