Ep. 751 - When You Fast
MINISTRY MOMENT
Jesus didn’t say “if” you fast...He said “when.” Fasting isn’t optional for followers of Christ, it’s an invitation to deeper dependence on Him. When we fast, we humble ourselves, repent of sin, and create space for God to bring breakthrough in our lives. It shifts our focus away from self-reliance and back onto the One who sustains us.
PRAYER POINT
"Lord, I humble myself before You today. Teach me to fast with the right heart, not for the approval of people, but for deeper intimacy with You. I ask for breakthrough in the areas of my life where I need Your strength, guidance, and peace. Thank You that You see what is done in secret, and You reward those who earnestly seek You. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
GOING DEEPER
Read Matthew 6:16-18. Notice the way Jesus teaches us to fast in humility. Read Joel 2:12-13. How does fasting connect with repentance? Read Philippians 4:6-7. How can prayer and fasting help you experience God’s peace? Reflect: What area of your life do you need a spiritual breakthrough in right now?
WALK IT OUT
Choose a time this week to fast. Maybe a meal, maybe a day, and use that time to pray, read Scripture, and seek God’s presence. Write down one specific breakthrough you are believing God for and commit it to Him in fasting and prayer.
