Ep. 758 - Changed Names
MINISTRY MOMENT
Sometimes it’s not very apparent to us when we are embracing a name or an identity outside of the actual identity that God would speak over us. It’s sometimes easier to recognize traits or behaviors that are not consistent with who we want to be, and from there we can recognize that that these are symptomatic behaviors stemming from us living in an identity that was formed by circumstances around us and not an identity that we were given while we were formed in our mother’s womb. Is there a name, trait, or identity that you would like to invite the Lord into so that He can speak His truth over you?
PRAYER POINT
“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me better than anyone else does…even myself. Help me to identify names or traits about myself that have caused me to embrace an identity different from the life-giving and loving identity that You speak over me. I know You want to share with me specific things about myself. What do You say about me?”
GOING DEEPER
Read and study Judges 6:11-16, Isaiah 43:1, and Galatians 1:15-16.
WALK IT OUT
Ask for God’s help in showing you who you think you are. Tell Him who you think you are and ask God who He says you are. Ask Him to tell you who you are in ways that are specific to you.
SHARE WITH OTHERS
Let people know that God calls them by name. He has never made anyone like them and never will again. Let them know that God wants to speak specifically into who they are. They are unique and made in His image.
