Ep. 893 - Power & Authority

Apr 9, 2026

MINISTRY MOMENT

Many believers spend their lives chasing power without understanding authority. We want God to move, to heal, to perform miracles, and those things matter. But Luke 10:19 reminds us that Jesus didn’t just promise power over circumstances, He gave us authority over the enemy. Working in God’s power is not about striving, it’s about identity. It flows from being aligned with Christ, submitted to Him, and walking closely with Him. Here's the point: you don’t have to strive for what has already been given, you have to walk in it. When you understand who you are in Christ, you stop begging for victory and start walking in it. Power (dynamis) may come and go in moments, but authority (kratos in action through Christ) is something you live from daily.

PRAYER POINT

“Father, thank You that You have not left me powerless. Thank You for giving me both authority over the enemy and access to Your power through the Holy Spirit. Teach me how to walk in both. Fill me fresh with Your Spirit so I can operate in Your supernatural power, but also draw me deeper into relationship with You so I can walk in Your authority. Help me to stop striving and start abiding. Remind me of who I am in Christ and give me the boldness to live it out daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

GOING DEEPER

Read Luke 10:17-20 and Ephesians 1:19-21. Ask yourself: Do I focus more on seeking God’s power or growing in relationship with Him? Where in my life do I need to start walking in the authority Christ has already given me? What would it look like to rely on the Holy Spirit daily instead of my own strength?

WALK IT OUT

Today, identify one area where you’ve been feeling defeated or under attack. Instead of reacting in fear or frustration, speak truth over that situation out loud: “Jesus has given me authority over this. I will stand firm in Him.” Then take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to fill you fresh and guide your response.

SHARE WITH OTHERS

Encourage someone who feels powerless today. Remind them that in Christ, they don’t just have hope, they have God’s power living inside them.
