First a Father

Regardless of how much love and affirmation you may or may not have received from your earthly father figure, the Gospel is your Heavenly Father’s emphatic statement of unrelenting, undefeated, never-ending love, and affirmation to you and to me! The love of the Father towards you is unconditional. It is not performance based. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. He is first a father!
