Ep. 912 - But...
MINISTRY MOMENT
Have you ever found yourself saying something like, “I know God loves me, but my life is falling apart?” Try switching the order of the sentence. Instead say, “My life is falling apart, but I know God loves me and will take care of me.” By speaking God’s truth after the “but” in your sentence, you shift your perspective from your trial to faith!
PRAYER POINT
“Lord, thank You for Your example in the Garden of Gethsemane, when You acknowledged Your feelings about going to the cross, but then You shifted Your perspective to yielding to the Father’s will. Please remind me to put Your truth and Your perspective after the “but” as I express my emotions or concerns. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
GOING DEEPER
Read and study Matthew 26:39, Psalm 13, and 2 Corinthians 4:7-10.
WALK IT OUT
Pay attention to how you speak about your emotions and the situations in your life. The key is agreeing with what God says, and putting that after the “But.” Try it! The next time you are struggling in any area, acknowledge what the trial or emotion is, and then say, “But” and speak the truth of God that can overcome your current situation and watch how God will shift your perspective from the trial to faith!
SHARE WITH OTHERS
Tell your friends about “The Holy But.” Explain the benefit of putting God’s truth after the “But” as you speak about trials and negatives in life. Then encourage each other as you face various trials to put “The Holy But” into action!
