Ep. 898 - Double-Minded

Apr 14, 2026

MINISTRY MOMENT

A double-minded life will always lead to a divided life. James makes it clear, when our loyalty is split between God and the world, instability is the result. Not sometimes, but in everything we do. Here’s what’s important to understand: being double-minded isn’t just doubting God occasionally, it’s trying to live in two systems at once. Trusting God on Sunday, but leaning on worldly wisdom the rest of the week. Seeking God when things get hard, but relying on yourself when things feel manageable. But God is not meant to be your backup plan, He is your foundation. And when your foundation is secure, your life becomes stable, even when the storms come. Stability in life doesn’t come from having perfect circumstances, it comes from having undivided trust.

PRAYER POINT

“Father, thank You that You are a generous God who gives wisdom freely. Today, I ask that You would search my heart and reveal any area where my loyalty has been divided. Help me to trust You fully, not partially. Strengthen my faith so I am not tossed back and forth by doubt or fear. Teach me to rely on You as my foundation in every area of my life. I choose to put my confidence in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

GOING DEEPER

Read James 1:5-8 and 1 Corinthians 1:30. Ask yourself: Where in my life am I tempted to rely on worldly wisdom instead of God? Do I treat God as my first option or my last resort? What would full and undivided trust in God look like in this season?

WALK IT OUT

Identify one decision or situation where you’ve been going back and forth. Today, make a choice to trust God fully in that area. Pray and declare out loud: “God, You are my source of wisdom. I will trust You completely and not lean on my own understanding.” Then take one step of obedience based on what you believe God is leading you to do.
