A Sermon Series to Bring Hope & Healing
in Hard Times
A Message from Lead Pastor, Thomas Humphries

"Dear Friend,
On Sunday, September 21st, I will be initiating a sermon series called “Turning Point.”
There have been numerous shootings and murders in the news recently, including the very public and brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk. As I wrestled with the emotional aftermath of his murder, I was reminded that the name of the organization founded by Charlie is “Turning Point, USA.” I sensed the Holy Spirit say, “The organization was prophetically named. This dark moment in time really will be a “turning point” for the USA.”
Perhaps you can sense it for yourself – there is a shift in the spiritual atmosphere. While some cheered, mocked, or reacted to the assassination report with glee, (the epitome of evil in my opinion), a greater number of people are responding with a resolve to stand against evil forces.
I believe the enemy has overplayed his hand. An evil act intended to silence, intimidate, and further divide our country is actually going to stir and awaken a slumbering giant. I believe there will be an awakening – a “turning” back to God. A returning to the bedrock values of the Bible - faith, family, forgiveness, and freedom.
I am asking our church family to do two things. First, please ramp up your prayer support for this season. Pray that God would give me the words to say to bring hope, healing, and faith for the way forward. Pray for the unity and protection of our church family. Pray for many, many hearts to be reached and changed by the love of God.
Secondly, look to be bold and invite a friend, neighbor, family member co-worker to come hear the message. Hearts are open and receptive. Many are searching for answers, and we have and know the answer – His name is Jesus.
