Ep. 767 - Faith & Obedience

Dec 4, 2025

MINISTRY MOMENT

Faith is what saves us, but genuine faith never stays alone. When we truly believe in Jesus and receive the Gospel, it changes us from the inside out. The more we see His grace, the more our hearts WANT to obey Him. Obedience becomes a joyful response, and not a requirement for salvation. The Gospel doesn’t demand obedience as a condition to be loved. Instead, it produces obedience because we are loved.

PRAYER POINT

“Father, thank You for the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You that we are saved by grace through faith and not by our own works. Lord, help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus—the author and perfector of our faith. Holy Spirit, produce in us a joyful obedience that flows from gratitude, not guilt. Shape our hearts so that obeying You becomes our delight and not our duty. Transform us into a new creation that reflects Your love and truth to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

GOING DEEPER

Take a few minutes this week to reflect on these questions and Scriptures. Read Ephesians 2:8-10. How do verses 8-9 emphasize salvation by faith, while verse 10 reveals God’s purpose for good works? Read John 14:15. What connection does Jesus Himself make between love and obedience?

WALK IT OUT

Choose one area of obedience you’ve been resisting. It could be prayer, serving, forgiveness, purity, generosity, or spending time in the Word, etc. Practice it this week, not out of obligation, but as a joyful response to the Gospel.
